Baptism: Statement of Faith

We are so excited you chose to get baptized!

Please read through all the information below prior to your baptism experience.

Baptism is an important step in following Jesus. It symbolizes one’s death to sin, burial of the old life, and a resurrection to new life in Christ — just as Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose to life again (Romans 6:3-5). Here are the prerequisites before being baptized.

Confess your sins: Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your sins to God. If you do, He will forgive you (1 John 1:9).

Repent of your sins: Repentance involves turning away from sin and turning toward God. When Peter preached to the people in Jerusalem on Pentecost, he told them to “repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins” (Acts 2:38).

Believe on Jesus Christ: Accept Jesus as your Savior from sin. When Philip met an Ethiopian and told him about Jesus, the Ethiopian wanted to be baptized. Philip asked him if he believed, and the Ethiopian replied, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” He was then baptized (Acts 8:37-38).
