What We Believe

About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe.  He has eternally existed in three co-equal personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He is co-equal with God the Father.  Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary by miraculous conception, lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all by dying on a cross.  He arose from the dead after three days demonstrating His power over sin and death.  He ascended to Heaven, where He is the only Mediator between God and people, and He will return again and establish Himself as the Ruler and King of the earth.

About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son.  He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  He teaches, comforts, and empowers us to experience Christ-like character.   The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

About Us
We are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character.  We are the ultimate object of God’s love.  Although we have the potential for good, everyone is marred by an attitude of rebellion toward God called sin.  Sin separates people from God.

About Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to all people.  Men and women can never make up for their sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can a person be saved from sin’s penalty.

About Baptism
Water baptism serves as a public statement that we have made a choice to follow a new life in Christ. Baptism symbolically represents the burial of our old way of life, and the resurrection of our new life as a Christian, under God’s leadership.

About Marriage and Relationships
Marriage is a sacred covenant established by God between a man and a woman. Every Christian should seek friendships with other Christians for service, accountability, and worship. This is primarily done through establishing one’s self with a local church body.

About the Bible
The Bible is God’s instruction to all people.  It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  The Scriptures are inspired by God, and are infallible and without error.  They are the unique, full and final authority on all matters, and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

About Eternity
People are created to exist forever.  Every person will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation.  When we are eternally separated from God, we exist apart from Him in hell.  When we are eternally in union with God, we exist with Him in heaven.  Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.
